Welles Step# GW 1001
The original "potty step!" Dr. William Welles was a chiropractor, nutritionist, and kinesiologist who studied with the late Dr. Bernard Jensen (author of "Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management"). Through his studies and experiences, he reached the conclusion that a healthy bowel is the key to general good health. He created the Welles Step to assist people in achieving the proper posture for elimination: squatting. Until the mid-1850’s, people squatted to eliminate. Then the forerunner of the modern toilet was invented. According to Dr. Welles, we have been the worse for it; the modern toilet is not designed to support the abdominal area during elimination. (For an article about this subject, click here.) The Welles Step is designed to place the body into the proper alignment during this process. Helps with constipation and hemorrhoids. Sturdy white steel frame, comfortable footrests; fits around the toilet base for out-of-the-way storage.
