The Quantron Resonance System (QRS) emits powerful pulsed magnetic fields. In addition, the National Institutes of Health recently awarded its first-ever grant for studying pulsed magnetic fields to the University of Virginia, which will study the QRS for use in rheumatoid arthritis. The QRS contains a body-size mat to lie on; a small pad for targeting specific areas of the body; and the control unit. There are three program settings, each emitting a different set of magnetic-field cycles. Each setting also has intensity control. The control box features an easy-to-read display with program, intensity, and time indicators; a timer that runs the program for up to 60 minutes; and memory function to repeat the last treatment used.
